AI IN SQUARE 1 CREDIT SUITE
AI in Commercial Lending
Meet Ivy, Suntell’s AI persona built into Square 1 Credit Suite.
Ivy is not a chatbot bolted onto the side of a lending platform. She lives inside the system your team already uses, and she works across the life of the loan: finding and winning business, underwriting it, and managing it once it is on the books.
Ivy has four capabilities today. SpreadIQ reads financial documents. Scout tracks documentation exceptions. Ask Ivy answers product questions and builds loan reports. Credit Bureau Import moves bureau trade data into the debt schedule.
Most lending software adds AI in one place. Ivy works across prospecting, underwriting, and portfolio management.
What Ivy does today
Automated tax return and financial statement spreading
SpreadIQ reads IRS tax returns and financial statements and populates your credit spreads with the data, so your analysts stop keying numbers off a PDF. Available for commercial and agricultural analysis.
Plain-language loan reporting and in-product help
Ask Ivy how to do something in Square 1 and she tells you. Ask her for loan data in plain language and she builds the selection for you. No ticket, no waiting, no wrestling with a report that almost fits.
Loan exception and tickler tracking
Scout brings each user’s outstanding exceptions and documentation items into one daily view, prioritized by total exposure and updated as items are cleared. No more hunting across borrowers, obligors, and loans to figure out where to start.
Credit bureau report import to debt schedule
Select a credit bureau PDF you already pulled, and Ivy reads it, identifies the trade information, and helps move it into the individual debt schedule. You review and approve before anything is saved.
AI pipeline coaching for commercial lenders
In the Business Development module, Ivy works two ways. For lenders, she preps you for the call, structures your notes, and tells you which deals have gone quiet. For managers, she briefs you on the pipeline: what is in it, where it is stuck, and where the concentration sits.
Ivy describes what the record shows. She does not characterize people, and she does not make credit decisions.
How we apply AI responsibly
Suntell applies AI where it removes repetitive work, not where it looks impressive in a demo. AI processing runs in Suntell’s secure Azure environment, hosted in the United States. Tax identification numbers, account numbers, and customer name information are not transmitted. Customer data is not used to train models, and information is not pooled across institutions. AI output supports your team’s judgment. Final decisions stay with your institution.
Common questions about AI in Square 1 Credit Suite
What commercial lending software has AI built in?
Square 1 Credit Suite by Suntell includes Ivy, an AI persona built into the platform rather than added as a separate tool. Ivy handles automated tax return spreading, documentation exception tracking, plain-language loan reporting, and credit bureau data import, with a person reviewing every output.
Can AI read tax returns and financial statements for banks?
Yes. SpreadIQ reads IRS tax returns and CPA-prepared or company-prepared financial statements and populates borrower financial data into credit spreads. What previously took an analyst 30 to 60 minutes per return takes seconds to a few minutes, with reconciliation back to the source document.
Does AI make credit decisions in commercial lending software?
Not in Square 1 Credit Suite. Ivy does not approve, decline, price, or assess creditworthiness. She prepares information and makes suggestions. Credit decisions remain with the institution.
Is there AI for agricultural lending?
Yes. SpreadIQ is built for both commercial and agricultural loan analysis, including Schedule F and farm financial statements. Ag lending has document patterns and spread requirements that differ from commercial lending, and Square 1 Credit Suite handles both.
Does Suntell use my institution’s data to train AI models?
No. Customer data is not used to train models, and information is not pooled across institutions.
Is a person involved in reviewing AI output?
Yes, on every AI-assisted feature. Ivy prepares, organizes, and suggests. A member of your team reviews before anything is final.
